| Details: The Bird Shop has birds from finches to macaws. We carry over 90 different types of bird seed, and seven brands of pelleted diets. We have a very large selection of small bird cages, and huge variety of wrought iron cages; available in four different powder coated colors. Our toy selection is unmatched, we stock over 1,500 choices. We carry many styles of playpens from tabletop to floor standing trees. The Bird Shop has a gift section "for bird lover's only" including picture frames, mugs, jewelry etc. We have a baby bird nursery where we raise some of our own babies. You can watch them grow! Long before the importation of birds was discontinued, we specialized in hand-fed domestically raised baby birds. That practice continues today. During spring and summer, the baby bird nursery is open for you to see the babies grow. Our fine reputation has been earned by our commitment to the birds, bird owners and the community! The Bird Shop; founded on St. Patrick's Day 1979 as an independent, family-operated, specialty bird store, takes pride in keeping up with the latest information to improve the life of your bird. The owner, Sharon Garsee, manager, Tiffany Latino, are certified Avian Specialists and Lifetime members of the American Federation of Aviculture (AFA). Our store has been MAP (Model Aviculture Program) certified and a member of The Companion Bird Source (an organization dedicated to providing healthy, well-adjusted pet birds and ethical business practices). We are proud of the support we have given to Capitol City Bird Society, U.C. Davis Psittacine Research Project, American Federation of Aviculture, SPCA, Folsom Zoo and many other organizations with the bird's interest at heart. With three generations of the family's participation, the store stands out in the community as a great place to shop. You can trust the staff to provide dependable information both on pet and breeding birds. We offer bird grooming and a separate facility for bird boarding. The 4,000 square feet of retail space is backed by 5,000 square feet of warehouse. This helps to ensure a well-stocked store. Our vast amount of merchandise is the best available in the pet industry.
