Extra Innings Instruction Extra Innings offers individualized, year round professional baseball and softball instruction. Our staff uses a uniform step-by-step teaching system to encourage positive progress with all our students. The staff at Extra Innings features former and current professional players, college all-stars and area college and high school coaches. Our instructors are available for individual and group lessons in pitching, hitting and fielding. Pitching Instruction Overview Pitching instructors at Extra Innings teach players proper pitching mechanics to increase velocity and prevent injury. Topics covered through instruction and drills include the basics of throwing, balance, body control, stride, release point and follow through. Hitting Instruction Overview Hitting instructors at Extra Innings work with players to improve their hitting mechanics. Our instructors teach the finer points of hitting and players practice them through drills that cover balance, stance, approach, point of contact and follow through. Fielding Instruction Overview Fielding instructors at Extra Innings teach players the drills and skills necessary to improve their defensive games. Year Round Practice Facilities Tunnels - Extra Innings features 8 multi-use tunnels. Our tunnels can be rented by the half hour or full hour. Each batting tunnel is 70 feet long, 15 feet wide and a minimum of 20 feet high, which allows for greater mobility and ball travel than standard batting tunnels do. Each tunnel is equipped with an adjustable pitching machine, making it suitable for individual or team hitting instruction and practice. What's more, Extra Inning hitting tunnels are equipped with individual pitcher's mounds and sliding nets, which allow the tunnel to be converted into an open field area for clinics as well as pitching and fielding instruction. Training Area - This area allows members to fine tune their hitting skills or work on drills they have learned during a private lesson. The room is equipped with training aids such as tees, soft-toss machines and stride boards. This room may be used by members at any time without reservations and can be reserved in advance by teams.
