We use a self-serve system that is new to the food and beverage service industry, in providing frozen yogurt in a convenient and attractive way, giving ultimate pleasure to our customers! Island Froyo lets customers serve themselves from a soft-serve machine and choose from a wide variety of flavors and toppings! This way, you get exactly what you want, each and every time you visit! Island Froyo is a high quality alternative to fast-food restaurants, institutional frozen yogurt, and ice cream shops. We are also implementing belgian waffles and coffee into the experience of self-serve yogurt. Waffles are made to order, with your choice of Belgian Waffles and Mini Waffles. Waffles are a great compliment to frozen yogurt!! Island Froyo is family owned and operated by Deason K. Baybayan III and Deason K. Baybayan Jr. as Kaohelo Enterprise LLC. Deason K. Baybayan III graduated at Lahainaluna High School and has over 16 yrs. of Food and Beverage experience, including leadership positions at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua. As leader of the In Room Dining Dept., Deason achieved rankings in the top 5 out of 40 other Ritz Carlton Resorts for In Room Dining for 2 years in a row! (1999-2000). This successful leadership helped benchmark his department by other Ritz Carlton Resorts due to the consistent high scores given when surveyed. The Ritz Carlton Kapalua, in fact, was ranked #1 for 6 months straight in 2000! Deason has also been recognized in the Music & Recording Industry for over 17 yrs. including his work with the band "Lahaina Grown" as a lead guitarist, singer, promoter, marketer, producer, and manager. Deason produced and recorded a successful album with the group Lahaina Grown, making it the #1 selling album in the state of Hawai’i in 2006 for 8 weeks, which also lead to a Na Hoku Hanohano Award nomination as the Most Promising Artist for 2006! We craft our frozen yogurt with one of the highest counts of beneficial live natural yogurt cultures. These cultures must be present in the intestinal tract of the human body to ensure proper balance needed for digestion and good health. And many lactose intolerant individuals can enjoy yogurt. Not All "Yogurts" Are Created Equal! The National Yogurt Association (NYA) established its own criteria for live and active culture yogurt in conjunction with its Live & Active Culture seal program. In order for manufacturers to carry the seal, refrigerated yogurt products must contain at least 100 million cultures per gram at the time of manufacture, and froze yogurt products must contain 10 million cultures per gram at the time of manufacture. This level was based on a survey of leading research scientists involved in clinical studies of the health attributes associated with live and active culture yogurt. The Live & Active Culture seal to all yogurt manufacturers whose products, both refrigerated or frozen, contain a significant level of live and active cultures. Not all products termed "frozen yogurt" actually contain live and active cultures. To make sure that a frozen yogurt contains yogurt produced by traditional fermentation and has a significant amount of live and active cultures, look for the NYA Live Cultures seal!
