Michelangelo's is an Italian Style Trattoria located just off main-stream J Street. In traditional Italian style, our walls are murals from local artists, and our floors are splatterd with paint. The dishes are multi-colored, our food is fresh and hearty, and our service is casually elegant. The food is styled after our grandmother's and great-grandmother's recipes amd our nightly specials feature a California flare on Italian rustic. Veal Saltimbocca is a house favorite, our 10oz Meatball is sure to satisfy any hunger, and ask anyone about our "can't miss" Ravioli's. On special nights, look for Lauren's handmade pasta in all delectable styles.
Michelangelo's Wine List offers a rich selection of Italian wines and represents California's diversity. With everything from a simple Chianti to a decadent Brunello di Montalcino, a spicy Zin, or crisp Pinot Grigio, you're sure to find the perfect wine to compliment your meal. We also feature Retail Wine, allowing you to enjoy your favorite wine at home. Our Wine Manager, Jacqueline, has studied winemaking from UCDavis, and recently completed the Introduction to Master Sommelier course. She is currently working towards becoming a Certified Sommelier.
We also feature cocktails with a selected few liquors. Try our signature Michelpolitan or a GlenMorangie 12year on the rocks or finish off the night with a traditional Sambuca or Grappa.
Weather permitting, our patio is an ideal place for dining 'al fresco' surrounded by flowers and fresh herbs in our sculpture garden. We have a semi-private party room that can seat up to 15 people comfortably for parties. The Gallery is available for catered functions - formal dinners to fundraising appetizers - with local artwork and Gregory Barton's sculptures that will be sure to spark a conversation.
Our cozy neighborhood feel suits everyone from local walk-ins to season theatre-goers. Our location is ideal for dinner before you hit the town - only minutes from the Ballet, the Community Center, Sac Theater company, and local bars and clubs. Reservations are recommended on weekends and theater nights.
